About Me

Bartłomiej Pitala

In the beginning, there was diving... Years of wreck diving, mostly in the Baltic Sea, then came cave diving, and then, back in 2020, for the first time ever, I've heard this phrase: "underwater photogrammetry". The idea and possible results made a big impression on me, so I decided to try it myself. After a few (dozens) of more or less successful underwater scans, it finally started to look as I wanted. After a few very detailed models of classic Baltic Sea wrecks, an idea came to my mind - let's try to 3D print it, maybe? This required a whole new skillset related to 3D processing and 3D print (both of these were totally new to me), but it turned out that little, hand-painted wrecks look amazing when put on a shelf.

Currently, I'm still working on improving my workshop, technique and gear, in order to be able to scan bigger, deeper wrecks, in even more detail, in a shorter time. At this moment I have over twenty Baltic Sea wrecks scanned on depths reaching 85 meters. When I'm not diving the wrecks, you can find me in the european caves (Italy, France, Greece, Spain)
