Desantowiec - landing craft wreck

Location: Baltic Sea, Hel peninsula

Maximum depth: 55 m

No. of photographs: 11 000
This wreck lies in the Baltic Sea, close to the Hel peninsula, on the depth of 55 meters. It sank during the 2nd World War, but even though it’s called “Landing craft”, it most probably is not a real landing craft. It’s simple to check using this 3D model - no type of landing crafts used during the 2nd WW had similar shape/dimensions. The wreck is about 50 meters long and 7 meters wide, so it was quite an achievement to scan it, considering significant depth (55 meters) and water temperature 4 deg Celsius.
